The glorious renovation of Villa Evangenli was very much a family affair – their combined talents created the wonderful home that you see today.  Evangelini (an archaeologist) painstakingly researched and resourced original frescos, paints, colours and ceramics; sister  Ifigenia (an architect specialising in Restoration and Conservation of Historic buildings), oversaw the project, Dimitri managed the logistics of the renovation and the main craftsman (with his team) was an award winning builder.

The restoration started in 1990 and took 3 years to complete. Taking the house completely back to its original brick structure, local materials and tradesmen were used wherever possible.

Although the family are happy to welcome guests to stay in the house, Villa Evangelini remains a much loved family home.  George (the gardener) looks after the gardens which produce grapes (for home made wine and grappa), olives for (homemade olive oil and bountiful crops of fruit (including figs, lemons and oranges). Sitting majestically in the middle of Poseidonia, whilst the family are staying there, many friends tend to pop in on their way to the beach and impromptu and spontaneous long, lazy lunches are created by Evangelini and Ifigenia.

You will create your own memories whilst staying with us. If you want simply to relax and enjoy the villa and gardens then that is fine but if you are looking for something a little more "adventurous" we can help with Scuba Diving; Sea Sports; Wind Surfing; Cooking lessons; Tennis coaching; Painting and Drawing Classes;  Boat Trips to include lunch; Yoga or Massage; Horse Riding or Wine Tasting. We are very happy to help to tailor-make your holiday.
