Dimitri will meet you at the port/airport to escort you to the villa where you will be welcomed with homemade snacks and drinks provided by Lali who will be delighted to cook for you during your stay. Dimitri will then show you around the surrounding area so that you are familiar with beaches, restaurants and shops/supermarkets. He is always contactable during your stay - whether to help with booking excursions, suggest the best places for day's out, or just for a chat about the island.

There is also an enormous pool heated to the perfect temperature all of which made it a blissful holiday. The property is an utter gem. Both the house and the garden. The location is excellent. This is a house of immense character, an elegant 19th C residence set in a lovely well maintained garden with shady pine trees, vines - a gorgeous pool. We were a group of 10 persons, plenty of space in the house with room to spare - the morning breakfasts or evening drinks under the trees all around the large marble table in the garden are a lasting memory. The proprietor Mr Dimitris is an outstanding host, attentive and very responsive yet not getting in the way.

We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Evangalini for a week with our family of 15. We were on Syros to celebrate my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. Right from the beginning Dmitri (the owner) met us at the port and gave us a two-hour tour of his family's estate. He and his wife purchased the property over 30 years ago and painstakingly rebuilt it to both feel historic, and to have all modern the amenities. Each room has its own personal character. We ended up eating every meal together outdoors--dinner on the giant marble table, breakfast in smaller more intimate settings. We spent a lot of time at and in the pool--probably the nicest on the island. The garden is filled with secrets, fruit trees, and plenty of shade for the warm days. Dmitri showed us the short-cut to the beach less than a ten minute walk away. The local neighborhood has many delightful establishments including two bakeries, the farmer who opens his/her shop all morning long with the best tomatoes and cucumbers around, George's the local restaurant we frequented across the street, and a bakery in the next village that had some of the best cake and pastries in Greece. Dmitri was always helpful, and just an all around great host. I would highly recommend Villa Evangalini for family celebrations.

Beautiful place! Dimitris is an excellent host always ready to help and available at any time.
Lali is an amazing cook and very helpful. The house is super nice with lots of corners in the shade ideal for nap time. And the island of Syros was a real revelation for us very wild, not very touristy, which stands out from the other islands of the cyclades! In short we absolutely loved our stay!

Absolutely remarkable stay on all levels.
In the first place, the villa is superb, in the neoclassical style with large spaces, quality catering, eclectic decor full of charm, history, rooms with bright colors, large spaces and beautiful materials.
It is perfectly equipped .
Its location is ideal, surrounded by beautiful neoclassical villas, set back and close to the beaches .
The garden is equally remarkable and is just as part of the large,well-maintained living setting: it alternates around fruit trees, large pine trees, spaces in the shade decorated with small tables with chairs or loungers. Large easy access parking surrounded by trees . The outdoor table is the central living point, illuminated in the evening by an outdoor garland. The night lighting in the garden is well designed and makes the atmosphere magical.
We were also very well received upon arrival by Dimitri at the exit of the ferry who came with us to the car rental agency, then led to the villa he introduced us and ended with a short drive around to make us discover the restaurants , the nearby and pleasant beaches and the main shops .
Everything is done to make life easier.

August 2022 - Private Guest

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Evangelini. Dimitri was absolutely charming - incredibly helpful and thoughtful from our arrival (with cake, coffee and a detailed verbal download of the house). The house itself is as beautiful as the pictures describe, with gardens full of fruit trees and vines and the pool is in a magical setting.  Dimitri took us on a little fact finding on arrival which meant we were familiar with the area/beaches/restaurants pretty quickly.  The food cooked by Lali was just wonderful - also, the fact that you can wonder from the house to 3 restaurants is a lovely thing and as Dimitri owns the house, when you mention his name you get a lovely reception from shop and restaurant owners. All in all - a charming place to stay - beautifully done.
