Villa Evangelini

Nestled within three acres of private gardens, orchards and olive groves in Syros's exclusive Poseidonia, Villa Evangelini is a true showstopper - a coral pink,  19th-century neoclassical villa which has featured extensively in international media.  In May 2026 Condé Nast Traveller recommended Evangelini as the best villa for familes on the island. Lovingly restored, the house offers an aristocratic retreat - it's fabulous interiors blending antique elegance with bohemian charm.

Villa Evangelini comfortably sleeps up to 15 guests across the main house and charming garden guest rooms, making it ideal for families and friends. Beyond its stylish interiors – from the elegant drawing room to the farmhouse kitchen – the villa boasts a full-sized private pool, ensuring complete seclusion.  This is a place that immediately slows the pace of life - wake to birdsong and spend long, sun soaked days moving between shady terraces and fragrant gardens to orchards and olive groves.

The main house is home to four beautifully designed en-suite bedrooms, each layered with antiques, rich textures and soft linens that make every night feel indulgent. Elegant living spaces include a refined drawing room for afternoon reading and a welcoming farmhouse kitchen where guests naturally gather over coffee, local pastries and long, lazy breakfasts. Tucked within the gardens are the three charming guest houses – each with its own en-suite bedrooms. Villa Evangelini is ideal for milestone celebrations and multi-generational holidays.

With beaches and tavernas within walking distance, you can dip easily into local life while enjoying complete privacy back at the villa which is completely walled and gated. Staying here feels deeply personal. Dimitris, the owner, welcomes guests at the port and introduces you to the villa with drinks and snacks – he will then give you a tour of the surrounding area including the path to the beach! Lovely Lali the housekeeper is happy to prepare traditional Greek dishes on request.

Each room has air-conditioning and its own private bathroom,  

The heart of the villa is its spacious drawing room and farmhouse kitchen, which naturally invite gathering, shared meals and quiet conversation. Shuttered windows open onto the gardens, allowing light, air and birdsong to flow through the house.

Gardens, Pool & Natural Surroundings

A full-size private swimming pool is tucked discreetly behind bamboo fencing, offering a feeling of complete seclusion. A gentle path winds through the orchard — with orange and lemon trees, vines, pomegranates and bay — leading from the house to the pool and garden areas.

The expansive grounds provide countless quiet corners for reading, journaling, rest or simple presence. The villa’s setting naturally supports a slower pace, encouraging guests to disconnect from external demands and reconnect with themselves.
